Winter Fun....sort of

Well we have had a very interesting January. we started out the month with Madelyn sick with pneumonia. She first got sick around Christmas and we ended up taking her to the hospital on Christmas night. They gave her IV antibiotics and sent us home with more for her to take over the next 8 days. On New Years day we had to take her again to the hospital with back pain. We didn't really get any answers on why she was having pain but the x-ray showed that the infection in her lung was not getting any better. Well the next week I took her in for a follow up with our doctor and he ordered another x-ray. This time the x-ray showed that she was building up some fluid around the infection so we admitted her to the hospital here in Price for three days and then she spent a day and a half at Primary Children's Hospital. They sent her home on yet another round of antibiotics and we are to go in for another x-ray when she is done with that round. So we are all hoping for a clear x-ray this week. Poor Maddie she was a trooper. She had blood drawn and IV's put in and taken out so many times that it made me cry. But they did give her lots of presents because she was in the hospital on her birthday. She is home now and doing well, she didn't ever really act sick except right at the first. But she is glad to be home and back to school.
So here are some pictures from this month. I didn't have my camera with me to take any pictures of Madelyn in the hospital but we did go sledding at my parent's house and we have had lots of snow this week so the girls have been out playing. Thomas likes to go out and play too but he doesn't ever stay out very long.

Many happy returns

We started this year off with a bang. Medelyn got pneumonia over the Christmas Holiday and had to go to the hospital. She was given IV antibiotics twice and then we had her on antibiotics for another 8 days. Hopefully she will be better soon. we spent Christmas in Layton at Grandma and Grandpa Fawcett's house. We got to see Bryce, Richelle, James and Matthew. We did have a good Christmas even though Thomas, Richelle, Madelyn and James were all very sick. I didn't get any pictures with all the sick kids to look after but hopefully grandma or Paige did.
After we got home from Grandmas Katy, and Abby both got sick. Now Collin and I are sick but that is life right?
This week the kids are back in school (yeah) and Thomas turned two. He got a big wheel bike and a guitar. Thomas really loves to dance and play the air guitar so we thought he would enjoy a guitar that really plays music for him. He was pretty happy. Next week is Madelyn's birthday and we are looking forward to a visit from Grandma and Paige.

Christmas is Coming!

Well I have about 5 minutes to complete this post before I have to get back to my kitchen and finish my cookies, and my chocolates that I am making to take around to the neighbors. So I have a few new pictures to post from the ward Christmas Party. We are all doing well and I am ready for Christmas! I have just about all my shopping done and I am having fun baking and decorating my house. We want to wish you all a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

We also had the big Rigby family Christmas Party last Saturday and we had a good turnout. we even got a group picture which is saying something because there were a lot of people there.

HALLOWEEN

We had a great Halloween. Saturday we drove up to Bountiful and had lunch and visited with my family. then we went trick-or-treating with Liz's kids before heading up to Layton to see Grandma and Grandpa Fawcett (and Paige). Nathan and Libby stopped by and told us about a Doctor who puts together a Hogwarts School on his property every Halloween. So we jumped in the van and headed off to Hogwarts. It was super cool and fun, we drank butter beer and played Quidditch, the girls got sorted. Katy-Ravenclaw, Abby-Griffindor, Madelyn-Huffelpuff. Libby took some pictures of the kids meeting Dumbeldore and Hagrid and Prof. Lockheart so I'll have to get a copy and post them.

Oh good news I found some pictures of the kids at The Hogwarts Halloween.

Fall Adventures

All the kids had Friday October 2nd off from school, my family was all heading down to my mom's to can apple pie filling. I thought that it would be fun if they came to my house Thursday night and then we could see some of the dinosaur sites here in Carbon County. Liz and Becca's families came down and spent the night. Friday we headed out to Cleveland Lloyd Dinosaur Quarry. It was really cool to see all the bones, plus the ones they haven't dug up yet. Then we took the kids on a pretty long hike around the quarry to look at all the desert. Here are some pictures of our adventure.

Yes that is the ledge of a cliff we are standing on. Needless to say we didn't stay out there long.

Thomas is really getting to be independent. He wanted to walk by himself the entire hike, which put us way behind the big kids. Every once in a while I would throw him on my shoulders and walk fast to catch up. He yelled at me the entire time.

Scoccer Time!

Well we are three weeks into soccer and the girls are doing pretty well for not knowing anything about the game when we started. Katy is trying her best to keep up with the boys on her team that have been playing for years. She does have a friend on the team who is in the same boat so they pretty much hang out together on the field.

Abby and Madelyn are in the beginner bracket. Abby does great charging up and down the field kicking the ball. She is having a great time and is doing really well. Madelyn is a little shy and mostly just follows the group and kicks the ball only if it happens to bounce off of her foot. But she too is having fun and that is all that counts. It gets them out of the house twice a week and gives them some good exercise. Here are some pictures from today's game.

Labor Day weekend

After being a slacker for a whole month I have finally found the time to sit down and put up some of our pictures from our adventures in the last month. Katy, Abby, and Madelyn all started school in August and are doing well and having fun. Here is a picture of them on the first day.

They also started soccer this week, but I'll have pictures of that at a later date.

Labor Day weekend was our annual Rigby family reunion (Collin's Mom's side of the family) Friday we drove up to Jackson and found our condos at Teton Village. They were awesome very beautiful, the weather was very nice, not too hot and not stormy. Saturday morning we went to the Snow King and went down the alpine slide. Abby had a great time. She went with me both times. The first time down she kept telling me to slow down. The second time she kept telling me to speed up.

After the slide we drove up to Jenny Lake and hiked around for a couple hours.

Then it was time to head home and get ready for dinner and a show at the Bar J Ranch. The show was great as it always is and Thomas loved to dance to the music. We even got to see a nice fox come into the campground and look for food that was left behind. One of the workers told us that the fox was born last winter and was a regular at the Chuck wagon. She was kind of a pet. It was the only wildlife we saw all weekend.
Sunday it was off to church where I saw my old boss from when I used to work in Jackson. She said that she remembered me but she used to say that to everyone who stayed at her hotel. She did remember Rebecca and Liz (my sisters) by name and asked how they were doing.
It was a great weekend and we all had a good time.

Monday morning we went into town for some shopping and sight seeing.
