Chopper 5 comes to Castle Heights!
Today chopper 5 from KSL News came to the girls school. The school has passed it's reading goal and read 2.3million minutes this year. It was fun to see the helicopter come and land at the school. The kids all got to see the helicopter up close and have a class picture with Nadine from KSL news.

It's hard work being 3!
Thomas was playing the computer today. I was down in my room and realized I hadn't heard him for a while. (silence can be very loud) I went into the front room and found him like this. I guess he was just going to rest his head and fell asleep. That's my boy, when he is really tired he will fall asleep no matter what he is doing.

So much news!
Ok so we did have a wonderful Christmas. No one was in the Hospital, though we did have a nice round of stomach flu that we shared with Grandma and Grandpa, Paige and Trevor (sorry about that guys). We stayed home for Christmas eve for the fist time in our married life. We made a big turkey dinner and invited some friends over for dinner. Then in January Thomas turned three and Madelyn turned 6. They both had nice birthdays and got lots of cool loot.

February has been busy. Katy is getting ready for many performances with her dance team. She dances for the USU-CEU Men's b-ball half time show in a week, and then they dance for the Utah Flash halftime show on Presidents Day. We are so excited that Collin's sister Paige is getting married in April and can't wait. Then in May Katy has her regional competition and Abby and Madelyn have their end of year performances. So we will be dancing a lot for the next few months (and when I say "we" I mean Katy will dance and I will drive her to lots of practices).
Collin took his professional engineering exam in October and passed. He got his application for his licence sent off and this week the actual licence came in the mail. I am very excited for him and proud of him.

A busy week
This week Abby won second place in Literature in the Reflections contest. She got a super cool trophy and Grandpa and Grandma Anderson were able to come and see her get the award. She wrote a poem for her entry.
Together We Can
We can keep our city clean
Don't be a bully, Don't be mean
Be nice to other people.
Some people go to church with a steeple
Clean the earth, make it green, make it clean
You can recycle on your bicycle

We were very proud of our Abby!

Thursday the Fifth Grade kids had their annual Christmas Parade. They all decorate wagons, or just dress up and walk around the halls of the school and throw candy to the rest of the kids. Katy and her friend Kyle built a super cool sleigh that has Santa's bag of toys, and a winter wonderland village. They also had lots of tootsie rolls to hand out. Thomas got to help and he was super excited about that.
