Christmas is Coming!

Well I have about 5 minutes to complete this post before I have to get back to my kitchen and finish my cookies, and my chocolates that I am making to take around to the neighbors. So I have a few new pictures to post from the ward Christmas Party. We are all doing well and I am ready for Christmas! I have just about all my shopping done and I am having fun baking and decorating my house. We want to wish you all a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

We also had the big Rigby family Christmas Party last Saturday and we had a good turnout. we even got a group picture which is saying something because there were a lot of people there.

HALLOWEEN

We had a great Halloween. Saturday we drove up to Bountiful and had lunch and visited with my family. then we went trick-or-treating with Liz's kids before heading up to Layton to see Grandma and Grandpa Fawcett (and Paige). Nathan and Libby stopped by and told us about a Doctor who puts together a Hogwarts School on his property every Halloween. So we jumped in the van and headed off to Hogwarts. It was super cool and fun, we drank butter beer and played Quidditch, the girls got sorted. Katy-Ravenclaw, Abby-Griffindor, Madelyn-Huffelpuff. Libby took some pictures of the kids meeting Dumbeldore and Hagrid and Prof. Lockheart so I'll have to get a copy and post them.

Oh good news I found some pictures of the kids at The Hogwarts Halloween.

Fall Adventures

All the kids had Friday October 2nd off from school, my family was all heading down to my mom's to can apple pie filling. I thought that it would be fun if they came to my house Thursday night and then we could see some of the dinosaur sites here in Carbon County. Liz and Becca's families came down and spent the night. Friday we headed out to Cleveland Lloyd Dinosaur Quarry. It was really cool to see all the bones, plus the ones they haven't dug up yet. Then we took the kids on a pretty long hike around the quarry to look at all the desert. Here are some pictures of our adventure.

Yes that is the ledge of a cliff we are standing on. Needless to say we didn't stay out there long.

Thomas is really getting to be independent. He wanted to walk by himself the entire hike, which put us way behind the big kids. Every once in a while I would throw him on my shoulders and walk fast to catch up. He yelled at me the entire time.

Scoccer Time!

Well we are three weeks into soccer and the girls are doing pretty well for not knowing anything about the game when we started. Katy is trying her best to keep up with the boys on her team that have been playing for years. She does have a friend on the team who is in the same boat so they pretty much hang out together on the field.

Abby and Madelyn are in the beginner bracket. Abby does great charging up and down the field kicking the ball. She is having a great time and is doing really well. Madelyn is a little shy and mostly just follows the group and kicks the ball only if it happens to bounce off of her foot. But she too is having fun and that is all that counts. It gets them out of the house twice a week and gives them some good exercise. Here are some pictures from today's game.

Labor Day weekend

After being a slacker for a whole month I have finally found the time to sit down and put up some of our pictures from our adventures in the last month. Katy, Abby, and Madelyn all started school in August and are doing well and having fun. Here is a picture of them on the first day.

They also started soccer this week, but I'll have pictures of that at a later date.

Labor Day weekend was our annual Rigby family reunion (Collin's Mom's side of the family) Friday we drove up to Jackson and found our condos at Teton Village. They were awesome very beautiful, the weather was very nice, not too hot and not stormy. Saturday morning we went to the Snow King and went down the alpine slide. Abby had a great time. She went with me both times. The first time down she kept telling me to slow down. The second time she kept telling me to speed up.

After the slide we drove up to Jenny Lake and hiked around for a couple hours.

Then it was time to head home and get ready for dinner and a show at the Bar J Ranch. The show was great as it always is and Thomas loved to dance to the music. We even got to see a nice fox come into the campground and look for food that was left behind. One of the workers told us that the fox was born last winter and was a regular at the Chuck wagon. She was kind of a pet. It was the only wildlife we saw all weekend.
Sunday it was off to church where I saw my old boss from when I used to work in Jackson. She said that she remembered me but she used to say that to everyone who stayed at her hotel. She did remember Rebecca and Liz (my sisters) by name and asked how they were doing.
It was a great weekend and we all had a good time.

Monday morning we went into town for some shopping and sight seeing.

Charlie Jenkins

This week at the Davis County Fair Charlie Jenkins was singing. So Wednesday night we went to see him. We saw him sing on the Fourth of July and we really enjoyed the show, we even bought two of his cds. The kids have all the songs memorized and when they found out that he was going to be singing in the Fair they all wanted to go. Abby was especially excited for him to sing her favorite song. After the show we met with him and got a picture. It was a great show.

Our new arrival!

For those of you who didn't know, we got our new little puppy a week ago. Her name is Tess and she is a border collie. She is 6 weeks old and she is fitting right in to our family. Of course Thomas and the girls love her and they like to haul her around all day. Katy and Abby have been pretty good so far to pick up after her. But she is a sweety.

Forget the training wheels...I'll just ride the bike!

So we bought a bike for Madelyn, my four year old this summer. It has training wheels on it so that she can ride around with her sisters. Well that stupid bike has given us nothing but trouble the training wheels kept getting loose so we bought new ones an put them on. But they didn't do any better because they kept getting loose. So then we put the wheels on a different bike and let Abby ride the new one to see if that would work better, but that didn't help either. This week Madelyn asked if we could just take the wheels off and teach her to ride. Well I hadn't gotten around to teaching her, so the other day she just got on and rode it home from a friends house with a little coaching from Katy. So here she is riding her bike. Man my kids are easy!

Having a great time camping

We went camping up in the Uinta Mountains this last weekend and had a great time. we were camping down by the river and we had Mortimer the Moose come and hang out for a while the first day. He just stayed down by the river and ate all afternoon. Saturday we went up to where the sheep were and rode horses and fished in the pond. We didn't catch anything but we did have a fun time. Thomas loved throwing the stick for Lelo. The big kids were off making forts and fighting the bad guys. I am glad to be home now even though I have a TON of laundry to do.

Anderson Family Reunion

This weekend was the annual Anderson Family reunion at Palisades State Park. As soon as we got there the kids were asking to go to the lake. I told them they could take their buckets and shovels down and wade in the water. But when I got down to the beach both Abby and Katy were completely soaked up to their necks. The next day we went for a hike up the hillside that was near us. The kids were scaling the small cliffs as if they were pro rock climbers. When we got to the top we could see Gunnison Res, Nine mile res, and of coarse Palisade Lake. IT was great fun. As soon as we hiked down the hill we got into our swimming suits and went to the lake. We all had fun catching minnows, and going out in the boats. Abby even swam back from the dock (a platform that floats out in the water off from the beach) with me and had a good time. So here are some pictures from our adventure. Enjoy!
